Exact Metrology, a Division of In-Place Machining Co., Cincinnati, has released the Artec Ray laser scanner, by Artec 3D, a manufacturer of 3D scanners and software.
The Artec Ray Laser Scanner is suitable for scanning large objects with high precision and speed. With the ability to scan up to 110 meters away, this scanner offers submillimeter distance accuracy and high angular accuracy.
To scan, users need only to place it on a tripod in front of the object they wish to scan and press a button. Portable and compact, the laser scanner can be set up indoors or outdoors. There’s no need to worry about finding a power source because the internal battery lasts up to four hours.
